Garuda Foundation was founded by Geshe Lobsang Sherab from Gaden Jangtsey monastery , who resides in Italy. It was founded in the year 2019.”
He has appointed all the executive members such as the President of the foundation, a finance advisor, several members, and a contractor who looks after the ongoing project called the Brahmaputra Project.”
The objective of this foundation is to provide aid to poor and underprivileged people from the Himalayan Tibetan people and Gyagar Khampa.
It emphasizes on the proper education of Himalayan Tibetan children and Himalayan Tibetan-Indian children, Gyagar Khampa. Which is refer to the people who have been migrated to India before 1959 and became Indian citizens.
The new generations are losing it’s language and traditions, therefore its purpose is also to preserve and promote the Tibetan language, script, Buddhist tradition, and religion.
This foundation’s first project is the ongoing Brahmaputra Project, which aims to provide hostel facilities for poor children.
In addition to the hostel facilities, there is a dispensary within the premises dedicated to providing emergency medical assistance to local farmers and underprivileged individuals residing in the vicinity.
It is called the Brahmaputra project because of the river Brahmaputra which flows just 10 mins away by car from the place where our project is taking place.
